1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Details.so uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar browser technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. localStorage and sessionStorage are browser storage features that let a site remember information on your device.
2. Strictly necessary storage
We use storage that is necessary to provide the Service, keep you signed in, secure access, remember basic preferences, route checkout, and show the correct product state.
- Supabase authentication session — keeps you signed in and lets us verify access to account and paid features.
- Authentication hint cookie (
inspo_auth_hint) — helps the interface render the signed-in state quickly. It is not proof of authentication. - Theme preference (
inspo_theme_preference) — remembers your selected theme. - Account tier and state hints (
inspo_account_tier,inspo_account_state) — help the interface show the right access state before the server verifies it. - Login and checkout return paths — remember where to send you after login or checkout.
- Grid and browsing state — helps restore product browsing state during navigation.
- Rate-limit and security-related request data — helps prevent abuse and protect the Service.
The server remains the source of truth for authentication, billing, and paid access. Browser hints can be wrong, stale, or cleared.
3. Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly aggregate analytics to understand product usage and improve Details.so. We do not use analytics for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
If an analytics tool uses cookies or similar storage, we will use it only for aggregate measurement and only where allowed by law. Where consent is legally required, we will ask for it.
4. What we do not use
We do not use:
- advertising cookies;
- retargeting pixels;
- cross-site tracking cookies;
- third-party ad network cookies;
- analytics that profile you across unrelated websites.
5. Third-party checkout and login
When you start checkout, you may be redirected to Polar. Polar may set its own cookies or browser storage on its domain to process payments, manage billing, prevent fraud, and keep checkout secure. Polar’s storage is governed by Polar’s privacy policy.
If you sign in with Google, Google may use cookies or browser storage on its own domains as part of the login flow. Google’s storage is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
6. How to control storage
You can block, clear, or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. If you clear Details.so storage, you may be signed out, lose local preferences, reset UI hints, or need to restart login or checkout.
Most browsers also let you limit third-party cookies. Blocking third-party cookies may affect checkout, login, or other provider-hosted flows.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our storage, providers, analytics, or product features change. The “Last updated” date shows when the current version took effect.
